There are reports surfacing the Internet right now that singer Whitney Houston as died at the age of 48. She was an amazing talent.

I never enjoyed her music, but never categorized myself as a fan. When I did hear her songs, I knew that I was listening to a real talented singer. And as a sports fan, there is one memory that I will always have.

Back in Super XXV, during the time of the Gulf War, Houston gave a National Anthem performance I think may be the best in American sports history. Her voice filled the stadium and with the backdrop of the support from the American public, she gave the country an uplifting moment at the time.

It was beautiful and perfect in every way. Rest in Peace.
