Ray Allen’s decision to join the Heat ends his green streak

Ray Allen is no longer all green.

On Friday, Ray Allen agreed to join the Miami Heat. But the first thing that popped into my head was not the actual team, but Allen’s uniform.

Allen has played for three teams (Milwaukee, Seattle and Boston) in his career and there was one consistency with those teams: they were all green. Granted the Bucks weren’t primarily green, but it was there. And with Allen, he has worn some form of green his entire NBA career. (Too bad he never joined Dallas or Utah.)

Now with the Heat, he will no longer be sporting that color. So visually, I’ll have to get used to Allen in something that’s not green.

(This also proves that I am a weird uniform geek.)

  1. Sad to see Allen go (Boston fan), but he’s gonna get a lot of good and uncontested looks in that corner three.

Also a fellow uniform geek here too. Like, I followed the live blog on the NFL Nike jersey release, type of geek. Rock on.
