Dwight Howard’s whining and complaining doesn’t help his already bad image

Maybe I am a little too critical sometimes, but my perception of athletes are usually predicated on their actions away from the game, then their game itself. So with all the whining and complaining Dwight Howard has made about being unhappy about being with Orlando over the past couple years, I really feel like he’s just a big baby.

First of all, I never even was a fan of his game. He’s terrible at free throws and his offensive game is not that good. He has great ability to block shots and dunk because of his size, but I would never build my team around him. He’s so bulky up top and doesn’t really impress me on the floor.

So it doesn’t help that I am not impressed by his game and then this whole saga about being traded continues to hover over his image. I know sports is a business and players have the right to look for new opportunities. But there’s a way to do it and Howard has done it all wrong.

Maybe it’s me watching too much ESPN or maybe Howard is just overhyped. I hope that it is just a product of the media and that Howard really isn’t that bad of guy. But the perception I get is that he has whined and complained his way into getting traded and with his unimpressive talent level, I just don’t like how this is going down.
