Reblogged from ProFootballTalk:
While most of America was waking up and having breakfast, Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson was at a bond hearing, set to be released from jail after last night’s domestic violence arrest.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Johnson appeared live via a video feed before a judge, who issued him a $2,500 bond and ordered him to have no contact with his wife, Evelyn Lozada (who he married on July 4).
Here's my quick thought on this: I was never a fan of Chad's antics with his over the top celebrations, TV shows or whatever, but I always felt that despite that nonsense, he had a good head on. He knew when to be serious and when to be funny. Sometimes it mixed in but I knew he wasn't a bad guy. So with no history of being arrested while being an NFL player, this truly surprised me yesterday. I want to believe that this was an accident but a part of me feels that despite his good past, he was always one step too close to the ledge sometimes.
