I grew up watching NFL Films and it was always Steve narrating the stories. Especially the great classic footage of the 49ers in the 1980s, Steve became my voice for the NFL. He allowed me to see the game of football differently and also provided me with tremendous passion for the game.

I can't even think of recollecting the history of the NFL without thinking of the production of work he did for NFL Films. Without Steve's hard work, the NFL Network would not exist and I would be out of a job. Even though I have never met him, watching his work growing up and seeing his influence, he has impacted my life.

Rest in peace Steve. Thank you for bringing me and the rest of the football world joy for so many years.

Steve’s legacy will be part of the NFL forever. He was a major contributor to the success of the NFL, a man who changed the way we look at football and sports, and a great friend.”
