I miss funky court designs for basketball

Sponsorship with Mexico. That’s fine.

Adding huge logo with other sponsors on the floor. That’s fine also.

But what caught my attention is that the Mavericks logo is part of the key. The Mavericks alternate logo for their D-League team isn’t a full circle. Part of the horse’s ear sticks out but that doesn’t matter to me at all. I love designs that incorporate unique elements that we don’t see anymore.

This is clearly a 1990s design element that we don’t see anymore. And when players shoot their free throws, it probably looks pretty nifty on television.

It probably isn’t the best aesthetically, especially with all the sponsor logos and all. But it’s so unique and so rare these days that I like it. I wish more teams would do that but instead, the NBA floor designs have become pretty poor in aesthetics.

So I applaud the Legends for taking the Mavericks logo and making it part of the key. It’s a design I miss a lot.
