Merry Christmas everyone! Today is the day we celebrate the birth of the greatest ever. The one that saved us (from boring baseball). We celebrate the birth of the almighty Rickey Henderson. Thank you for giving me one of the best childhoods of baseball love.
On a more serious note, a real Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope you guys are taking your time to be with family and just to enjoy the holiday. Whether or not you believe about Jesus, let’s not bicker about things and just love one another. We can all do that, right?
Be happy and enjoy the good things we have and keep the people who are struggling in prayer.
I’ll be flying to Washington DC later today to catch the Military Bowl between Bowling Green and my alma mater San Jose State. This should be a fun one. I probably will blog about my adventures there. Have a great day!

Rickey Henderson is my favorite all time A’s player besides Vida Blue, Reggie Jackson, Rollie Fingers, Catfish Hunter, and Gene Tenace.
What I remember most about Rickey Henderson are two things:
1. His god awful muscular arms and the muscle twitches during his batting stance.
2. He would, when on 1st base, take his position so far away from 1st base, because he was fast enough to either steal a base or dive back to 1st base. He was a pitcher’s nightmare and ultimate distraction.
