It’s just a game, so why are you trying to hurt each other?

This is what I don’t understand. Why do people take sports so seriously? How come it leads to something like this?

I don’t know if the people involved were thugs or anything, but there has to be a reason why someone felt it was necessary to pull a knife and hurt somebody. I know emotions are running high, but is it ever necessary to go to a football game with a knife with the potential intent on using it?

Sports is something we’re all supposed to enjoy and it should be a safe place for people. But with arguments and all that loud banter, sometimes people don’t know their limits. Sadly, stupid things like this happen. Can we put an end to this madness?

  1. There are different types of fans. One is, who just wants to go see their favorite team play and cheer them on.

Another is the same, but who likes to dress up in team jerseys and perhaps put make up on, be a ham for the camera and turn up a notch when cheering their team like a *49er* faithful.

Another is, it is a macho thing, with thug mustaches and tattoos, perhaps a shaved head. And the thug just went to a knife sharpening place so it could glisten in the sun and pose as a threat to a weapon free individual with the intent to use it.

The most innocent type of fan is one who got a free ticket by chance and has never been to a game- and that fan probably was the one who got killed by the knife welding maniac.

However the scenario really was, violence has no place in sports events and should be prosecuted vigorously.
