Fresh new look to the blog.
After some long thinking (actually thought of it this morning), I decided to give the blog a little makeover today. I liked the old site layout but I felt that maybe a little change would be good after 15 months since the launch.
I didn’t want to go too far from what the original design looked like, but something that’s a little fresh. The misty theme is pretty neat in my opinion and an image or section of the blog clears up as you hover over it with your mouse. More importantly, I think I’ve found a way to make things less cluttered.
It’s simple. It has a classic feel to it but not boring or unoriginal. I’ll keep it and see if I like it. I think it looks great. Hopefully it helps establish an identity to my blog that’s recognizable to the sports fans out there. It might take a while to get used to, as it is still for me, but I think it’s good.
What do you think?
100,000 views sounds is pretty cool.
I started this blog up on January 31, 2012 and I didn’t know what would come of it. I was thinking that it would be an outlet for me to write about a lot of different sports topics outside the 49ers. I still write about them a lot even though I don’t cover them as a beat writer. But it also gave me a chance to write about a lot of different things in sports I care about, like the Oakland A’s and my love for sports uniform design.
Thanks to all of you, right before the blog hits the one-year anniversary, it has hit the 100,000 view mark. It’s a great achievement and it was something I didn’t think would happen so quickly.
I would like to thank everyone for sharing my blog links and telling people about it, retweeting me and all that stuff. This blog, I hope, continues to be something I want to do daily for a long time. It’s a great tool for me to keep my writing fresh and also for me to interact with all of you on a different level.
Thank you all for making this happen!
It’s a Festivus Miracle!
Happy Festivus to all of you. With Christmas approaching and the nonsense of forced gift buying and unhappy holiday cheer, I would like to invite you all to put that away and celebrate Festivus.
The holiday itself has taken a whole new life that even as you can see by the above picture, the A’s are taking part of it.
Unfamiliar with Festivus? Not sure why I’m celebrating the holiday of not celebrating? Here’s your history lesson.
This weekend I’ll be flying back up to the Bay Area to catch up with family, friends and some A’s games. I’ll be taking some time off the blog and the computer for the most part.
I’ll resume blogging upon my return Tuesday. Have a great weekend everybody!
When I started to get into writing, it was tough for me to establish myself because I didn’t have an outlet to show off my writing. Fortunately over the years the 49ers blog I started at MVN ended up into an eventual new gig with Examiner.com.
I think that for those people that have no outlet to write, it’s tough to really get that foot in the door. I am opening up my blog for anyone interested in finding an outlet to write sports.
I am not saying that my blog will get a great amount of exposure like Bleacher Report, but it’s a chance for anyone interested to get their feet wet.
