For the first time in team history, the Panthers are wearing black pants

Throughout the Carolina Panthers’ uniform history, they’ve never worn black pants. It was an idea when they first started designing uniforms but never came to be.

But thanks to the above tweet, we get to see what it looks like before they hit the field today. Black jersey with black pants (with their silver helmet) should provide a very unique look. This is a welcomed change for a team that has done little change to their overall design since their birth in 1995. I like their current set and these black pants only add on to what I think is a modern classic.

Let’s just hope that they pair these pants with the blue socks for visual balance.

If a bigger name did this, all the major media outlets would lose their minds over it. But since it's the lowly Panthers, it's a blip on their radar. I am not a fan of guarantees or any of that sort and I would prefer nobody do it. But hey, it makes for a good storyline in February whether or not it comes true.

Alex Smith, Patrick Willis, Jon Beason and that Twitter thing they’re using

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past few days, read up on this story first.

When I signed up for Twitter back in 2009 to help my coverage of the 49ers, I didn’t know exactly what I would be seeing on a daily basis. I frankly think that unless you’re in a business, media or someone that requires constant sending and receiving of information, Twitter is actually pretty pointless.

I just got Twitter in 2009 just to help myself keep track of other dealings and as more and more athletes decide to sign up on Twitter, the more and more I feel that they either use it right or totally wrong.

As in this case, I think it’s a case of right and wrong for Beason and Willis.
