Fair thee well, LaDainian Tomlinson

Congratulations LT on a great career.

They Call It Pro Football - Official Blog of NFL Films

LaDainian Tomlinson’s NFL career is over.  The 11-year veteran will sign a one-day contract with the Chargers so he can officially retire with the team for whom be played 9 seasons and rushed for nearly 12,500 yards.

Where Tomlinson ranks on the all-time rushing list is a matter of black and white:  his 13,684 yards place him fifth all-time behind Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders and Curtis Martin.  But where does he place on the far more subjective HMFRs – that is, the Hearts and Minds of Fans Rankings?  Did a man who made so many highlights out of dumpoff passes and leaped so fearlessly for so many goal lines, but never won a Super Bowl ring win you over?  How good was Tomlinson?

Game 6 of the 1986 World Series in Kenya

I came upon this video Saturday (and it’s already been getting a buzz for the past few days) and I suggest you all watch and enjoy it. After watching, here’s the story.

Basically, Dan Freiman works with kids in Kenya and realized that the children’s passion for playing sports and making movies could be combined into a project. After thinking up some famous sports moments, they settled on recreating Game 6 of the 1986 World Series.

The link has the interview and it was a joy to read. The video itself is amazing.
