NBC Pipes In Salsa Music For Victor Cruz Touchdown…Again

Agree totally with this. I think it’s a cool thing and that’s fine with me. But favoritism is not something we want to see from a network that’s supposed to give fair coverage. Either do it for all teams or don’t do it at all.

Joe Montana's Right Arm

When Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz scored during last night’s 19-17 Eagles victory, NBC went into its bag of tricks.

The powers that be for the Sunday Night Football production team opted to play salsa music to coincide with Cruz’s celebration.

NFL Supports National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Fourth-Annual A Crucial Catch Campaign Benefitting The American Cancer Society

I’m all for awareness but this pink stuff is too much. I don’t know if players are required to wear pink but everyone does it anyway. If you don’t, you’ll get shunned. But how much pink? One wristband? Full socks? The problem is that the pink is too hard (need a lighter pink) and players run risk of fine if they over-accesorize. Can we establish a certain code of how much pink a player can wear? Sometimes it’s too much, despite the positive message it’s sending.

Partnership Will Fund Outreach and Breast Cancer Screenings in Underserved Areas

The National Football League and NFL Players Association will support October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their fourth-annual national breast cancer screening initiative and fundraising campaign. In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, the initiative, called “A Crucial Catch: Annual Screening Saves Lives,” reminds women 40 and older about the importance of having an annual mammogram.

To date, the partnership has raised more than $3 million for the American Cancer Society, with the majority of the donation coming from the sale of pink items at retail and on NFL Auction. Beginning this year, money raised through A Crucial Catch will support the American Cancer Society’s Community Health Advocates National Grants for Empowerment (CHANGE) program. This program provides outreach and breast cancer screenings to women who need them. The NFL markets being supported in the first year of the…

49ers win over Jets reminds me of their approach last year against Giants

What’s it with the 49ers and their ability to outsmart the opposition from New York? As you can see from the above video, Rex Ryan did not like the fact that his team was unable to stop the rushing attack from the 49ers. In fact, the 49ers could have run the ball for every offensive snap and still win the game convincingly.

This comes after Darrelle Revis was likely lost for the season with an ACL injury. All week, “experts” wondered how the Jets would be able to move on without their best defensive player. In fact, how would the pass defense be able to stop the opponents from exposing them?

This is how the Oakland A’s can make the playoffs

I still can’t believe the A’s have made it this far. They weren’t supposed to be sniffing the playoffs but here we are.

With three games remaining in the regular season, the A’s could clinch a playoff spot as early as Monday night. Right now, the A’s are two games behind the Texas Rangers for first place in the AL West. The A’s are also have the second Wild Card spot, sitting one game behind the first spot.

The A’s magic number is 1 to reach the playoffs, so either a win by them this Monday or a loss by the Angels and Rays will secure a spot for Oakland. But the A’s can also still get the top Wild Card playoff spot since they’re only one game behind it.

But for me, I am looking forward to the AL West. The Rangesr are coming into Oakland for a three game set and if the A’s want the division title, they have to sweep the Rangers. Pretty tall order but if you’ve watched the A’s this year, it can happen.
