Brace yourselves, the Warriors sleeve jersey monstrosity is happening tonight in Oakland

Ugly.

Tonight, the Warriors will debut the above uniform set against the Spurs. Children cover your eyes. Adults, cover your ears.

The problem with the uniform set isn’t so much the sleeve itself. In fact, I’ve played basketball in shirts with sleeves and they are fine. They don’t inhibit my play in any way. So sleeves for a jersey is fine. The error is that there are so many aesthetic design flaws.

From mismatching jersey and shorts, the odd choice for bridge pinstripes, and the fact the jersey looks very thin doesn’t help the cause for the uniform set. The unfortunate rec league look will have to take some getting used to as this trend is clearly going to expand next season.

I do wonder if this will be popular among fans. Will they buy this and wear it to games? Will they wear them to the park and play in them?

One thing about every innovative/new uniform is that there will always be some kind of group that will love them. Will people soften up to these once they see them on the floor or will the hatred be so deep that they will demand a change?

This appears to be here for the long run and despite what the fans will think, Adidas finds a way to make the NBA look worse every season and there doesn’t seem to be an end to it anytime soon.
