Spring Training in Phoenix Day 1: Getting to Arizona

Welcome to Arizona!

Yesterday was essentially travel day for me as I headed towards Palm Springs to meet up with one of my travel buddies for the day. We didn’t plan to do anything today except for food and more food on our way to Phoenix.

Our first stop in Palm Springs was a seafood place called Ruben and Ozzy’s. It was a great spot in the middle of Palm Springs that featured some great tacos. I got the fish tacos and an oyster taco. Top that off with some pilaf rice and I was set for lunch.

A fantastic lunch!

Let me tell you, this was the first time I’ve ever had an oyster taco and it was so good. The oyster was so big and it just worked so well with the veggies.

Following that, we were on our way to Phoenix. It was a smooth drive and I almost drove the whole way without making any mistakes. It was like I had a perfect game going, but right at the end, I got off the wrong exit and couldn’t get the 27th out. But we got to the hotel and it was time for us to get some dinner on.

We went to Cibo, one of the highest rated pizzerias in all of Phoenix. We got two pizzas and a calzone. The calzone was the size of my forearm and we were all blown away by the food.

So much delicious in one photo. So filling!

The pizza wasn’t too bad either. But I think what made it great was that we had a sausage pizza and a ricotta pizza. I placed the two slices together to create the ultimate pizza slice. It worked out so well. Delicious!!!

Following that, we had some crepes and we retired for the night. A good trip and big stuff coming up today. We’ll catch the A’s vs Giants game and catch the Suns vs Hawks game at night. Let’s get it!
