Mariano Rivera announced today that the 2013 season will be his last one. This is a sad day for me because Rivera is one of the greatest players I have ever seen and I don’t want to see him leave. I have been blessed to see him pitch live in person and it will be honor to watch him this final season.
Rivera is known for his great pitching but also for his entrance to the field. In Yankee Stadium, “Enter Sandman” is well known by everyone and it provides one of the coolest moments in baseball when he exists the bullpen and enters the field.
It’s one of the best things in baseball today and it’s sad that we will not see it anymore past 2013.
I’ve always wondered if I ever became a big league player, what would my songs be? If I was a closer, what would be my entrance song? What if I was a batter?
It was a tough question and I don’t know if I have a song that goes well with my personality. But after some decisions, I’ve decided that at least if I was a closer like Rivera, these would be my two choices.
Now if I was a batter, I am not sure which song I’d go with. I know that I would change it up every year. I am not like Chipper Jones with his “Crazy Train” for so long. Maybe I’ll go with a West Coast classic.
