NFLPA’s LGBT shirts look real good but I bet it still will cause some controversy

I am all for sports around the world to be accepting of others despite differences in their sexual preference. It doesn’t matter on the field and I think for the most part, it’s been a good step forward. I believe that we’ve gotten to the point where it’s not as taboo.

But with this pairing of merchandising from the NFLPA, with the proceeds going to Athlete Ally, it’s a tremendous step forward. However, there are still hurdles to get past in this business.

There will people who will object to this. People who wear these shirts will get ridiculed. It’s a part of the process when opening up publicly with things that aren’t fully normal yet.

In the end, I believe that the NFLPA has taken a big step forward and ultimately, this will lead to a stronger, accepting America. You may not agree with how a person lives and loves, but maybe this will help those understand that that isn’t the way to define a person.

Current and former players who’ve been advocates have their shirts available for sale.
