That was a tweet from back in December by 49ers cornerback Eric Wright. But at the time of the tweet, he was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Here’s the quote that accompanied that image on his Instagram.
Last night and today.. Same camo pants I’ve been wearin for a week and same Js.. Don’t act like I’m the only person that does this!! Don’t lie to me! #NoHatCommentsPls #415
So here’s the image once again.
The text accompanying the image might not make sense to some who don’t understand his slang, so let me break it down for you:
Photos from last night and today. I’m wearing the same camouflage pants I’ve been wearing all week. Same shoes, too! Don’t act like I’m not the only person who does this. Please do not comment on the hat. Representing my hometown of San Francisco.
Wright knew that he could possibly get some response for the cap. After all, he was with the Buccaneers at the time. Even though it’s a cap representing his hometown team, it wasn’t the cap affiliated with his current team. That was the same issue that Colin Kaepernick experienced earlier this month.
So in a way, Wright was doing what was cool before Kaepernick made it cool. I bet those two will get along just fine.
For those of you who don’t get it: it’s what the fashion ways are today. Snapbacks and paying homage to home isn’t different. Poor cap choice? Sure. But nothing really wrong with it.
Either that, or he’s some kind of Nostradamus.
And hey, Wright has some nice choice in kicks. Now let’s just see if his off-field issues can be resolved and he can make some kind of impact with the 49ers.
