Today is the final day of 2013 and I’m going to do my year in review of the best and worst uniforms of the year. Unfortunately this year there will be no college sports involved (just way too much for me to cover). Let this be a history lesson for everyone to remember what worked and what should never happen again.
This is a list of strictly my opinion, so feel free to agree or disagree or just take it for what it is.
To qualify for this list, the uniform element must be a new set that debuted and was used for in-game action in 2013. That’s pretty much it. Let’s go take a look at the list for National Hockey League.

NHL’s Best and Worst Dressed
BEST: DALLAS STARS
The Stars needed a new look and they decided to go with this gorgeous kelly green design. Sure it’s similar to the Blackhawks, but it’s so refreshing to see a green-themed set that’s still unique. The logo is actually nice and it’s a great refreshing look. Swapping the gold with silver is actually a really good move.
HONORABLE MENTION:
SAN JOSE SHARKS – Road jerseys look clean and sleek. The teal collar is perfect.
THE MIGHTY DUCKS OF ANAHEIM – Yes!
WINTER CLASSIC – Yeah, I know this hasn’t been worn yet. But when they do, it will top next year’s list.
WORST: BUFFALO SABRES
This is not creative. It’s confusing and unnecessary. No.
HONORABLE MENTION:
CALGARY FLAMES – These thirds just don’t do it for me. It’s nothing really too different.
SAN JOSE SHARKS – Their home jerseys look like practice jerseys.
MINNESOTA WILD – New white jerseys are kind of a lateral move.
CAROLINA HURRICANES – I know you’re trying to look retro, but it isn’t working.
