I am not a fan of the Twins removing the pinstripes

News has surfaced that the Minnesota Twins will have new home uniforms next year and they won’t feature pinstripes. Growing up as a young baseball fan, pinstripes has always been the identity for me when it came to the Twins. Their days back in the Twinkiedome and their pinstripes worn by guys like Kirk Puckett and Shannon Stewart has always been the look I remembered.

Even when they moved to Target Field and removed the pinstripes from the road set, I still like their home pinstripes. I was even glad their throwback alternate had it too.

But now the time has come for them to change. I don’t know why. From what the report is saying, it will feature gold. Granted, the gold look is just a small trim. I can see where they might want to go with it, but the pinstripe to me is too iconic. The team’s two best seasons, 1987 and 1991, were won with pinstripes.

What I actually missed the most was the vest look. It seemed to me that Livan Hernandez was the only one who liked wearing it. During their first year at Target Field, the vest look was still a jersey they sold in stores despite discontinuing it. I hope that one day the Twins will bring back the pinstripe. Just the idea of it gone makes me sad.
