Usually when players and front office have issues, they do their best to try to keep it under wraps and not let anyone know about it. But apparently, that isn’t the case for the Sharks.
I don’t know how much truth their is to what Wilson said. It appears to be true as Thornton’s reaction seems like he was angry at Wilson for spilling the beans. This captaincy issue was a big deal when the season began and I’m sure Thornton is still bitter about it.
Either way, there had to be some kind of frustration stored inside Thornton and this was what triggered him. I don’t know how much Wilson should have gone into detail about Thornton’s attitude, but now we have a front office leader and a team leader not on the same page. The season is already very turbulent. They don’t need more drama. I’m shocked that this would even come about.
