Mark Jackson tries to clarify his quote on Stephen Curry ‘hurting the game’

Last night many media outlets picked up on a quote by Mark Jackson during his broadcast covering the Warriors. For the most part, the quote was a little shocking, claiming that Stephen Curry is “hurting the game” of basketball.

He claims in his tweet that the media is getting the quotes wrong. (And if you listen to him during the broadcast, he really sounded like a salty man who is still bitter over the Warriors letting him go.)

But all I have read on his quote covered the entire statement he made. The media did no misquote him. He just doesn’t realize that he is wrong.

Curry is not hurting the game. What he is doing is improving the game. So if the young people try to imitate him by shooting three-pointers, then how is that Curry’s fault? That’s on the youth. That’s on the coaches. That’s not on Curry.

I have no idea what angle Jackson is going with here. The game isn’t hurting because of Curry.
