This year’s WrestleMania isn’t as hyped as it could have been. Injuries and some bad writing has led us to this spectacle seemingly underwhelming. However, it is still WrestleMania and WWE is known to put on some kind of show that still gets us talking. What will happen at the Grandest Stage of Them All? Here are my predictions for the show.
Kickoff Pre-show: ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL — All the participants known so far
– Mojo Rawley, Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn, Big Show, Curt Hawkins, Goldust, R-Truth, Epico, Primo, Curtis Axel, Jinder Mahal, Bo Dallas, Braun Strowman and more.
Braun Strowman was my prediction last year and this year I am certain he is going to win it. He has great momentum on his side and this would really push his character. Sami Zayn is the other choice of who I think will win. Other than that, everyone else is just there to get their payday money.

Kickoff Pre-show: WWE CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
– Austin Aries vs. Neville (C)
This is a damn shame. This could be the match of the night but since the WWE doesn’t care enough about the cruiserweights and have not booked them well really, this is their reward. Even though this is on the pre-show, I still think that we have two great talents who could tear the roof off. Well, depending on how many people are in their seats at the time. Neville has been a great heel and I want this feud to go on for a while. I believe Neville retains but this feud doesn’t end just yet.

WWE SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH
– Mickie James vs. Carmella vs. Natalya vs. Becky Lynch vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss (C)
This is an interesting situation because the booking has been pretty good for the most part for the women’s title since the brand split and I think that we could be in for a surprise. Alexa Bliss has been a good champion but I feel that this title reign is only a placeholder as I think she will lose the belt. Who could it be? I expect it to be Naomi. She is my pick to win now that’s she is back.

WWE RAW TAG TEAM TITLE LADDER MATCH
– Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Sheamus & Cesaro vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson (C)
The match was not that interesting to begin with until they threw in the ladder stipulation on Monday. Because of that, we actually have a match that might be interesting. The titles suspended above the ring gives WrestleMania it’s unofficial obligatory ladder match. The booking for these belts have been so bad that I honestly don’t care who wins. But because Enzo and Cass have been so close to reaching the gold, I say they win this one to start off the show.
===
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
– Baron Corbin vs. Dean Ambrose (C)
Baron Corbin has been a huge surprise since he won the Andre the Giant Battle Royale last year. I didn’t think he would ascend to the midcard level so quickly but he finds himself in a good feud with Dean Ambrose and is bound to make another big splash at WrestleMania. The buildup to this match hasn’t been too great but there is enough craziness from Ambrose that could push Corbin to new heights. I say the lone wolf Baron Corbin wins and becomes the new champion.
===
WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH
– Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho (C)
This should have been the main event of the show. The storytelling and buildup to this match has been flawless. It’s a shame that the Universal title isn’t on the line with the United States title. These two have great chemistry together and the mind games the two will build will definitely make this a great match. With Samoa Joe helping Kevin Owens out lately, I expect some involvement from Joe to help Kevin Owens win the title. That can lead to a feud between Jericho and Joe in the future.

WWE RAW WOMEN’S TITLE ELIMINATION MATCH
– Nia Jax vs. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley (C)
I really wish that they booked this better. It should have been Charlotte as champion entering Mania and for Bayley to get her first title win at Mania. Now with the current storyline, it looks like the heel turn for Sasha Banks is going to happen here. Charlotte and Jax will be the first two to get eliminated. That would set up a good one on one situation between the two friends. However, Banks has been using shady tactics lately and that will be in play again. Bayley will unfortunately suffer from the backstabber (literally and figuratively) and will pass out from the Bank Statement. Sasha Banks win and becomes the heel.
===
NON-SANCTIONED FIGHT
– Triple H vs. Seth Rollins
The final promo between these two really made this match worth something. However, Rollins needs the redemption win and Triple H is known to put wrestlers over at Mania. With that said, I expect a lot of early attacks on the leg of Rollins. This might come down to a potential outside interference from Samoa Joe as well. But Seth Rollins will beat all the odds and somehow escape with a win (after a Pedigree of course). He shouldn’t be too bad in shape after this match so I don’t think he will take more time off for surgery.
===
SHANE McMAHON vs. AJ STYLES
I honestly don’t care for this match. We all know AJ Styles is going to win this. It’s just a match to make sure Styles gets his TV time because they haven’t booked this well at all. I would have loved Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura but that will be saved for later. This is the match where we see Shane McMahon do some crazy bumps for the sake of entertainment.
===
JOHN CENA & NIKKI BELLA vs. THE MIZ & MARYSE
The Miz has been the MVP of SmackDown and should win this match. He has the charisma and the win would put him back in the main event level. Maryse has been absolutely killing it in her promos and everything with wrestling logic says that this duo should win. But I am afraid John Cena and Nikki Bella are going to win because the rumor of Cena proposing after the match is starting to seem real and I don’t think that can happen unless they won. So that’s how I am afraid they are going to book it.
===
ROMAN REIGNS vs. THE UNDERTAKER
The rumors of Reigns winning and retiring the Undertaker seems pretty plausible. The Streak is gone so there is nothing to fight for really. Undertaker is getting up there in age. Reigns winning would put on so much heat on him that the WWE has to embrace this heel turn. Undertaker will have a decent match but it could get boring real quick. Roman Reigns should win this based on the way booking is set up but I don’t want to see it though.
===
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH
– Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt (C)
This should be the main event but they won’t make it the last match. Bray Wyatt deserves a long title reign and I think that will continue here. Orton and Wyatt have a good thing going on with this feud and I think it could go on for a while. I want to see the return of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper to reform the original Wyatt Family. There has to be some storytelling and explaining later on but if that happens, I am all for it. Expect that kind of interference to help Bray Wyatt retain.
===
WWE UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH
Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg (C)
This match will last for more than five minutes. But anything past 10 minutes will be a surprise. Goldberg isn’t ready for a long match and Lesnar isn’t the type of wrestler to put on long matches anymore. The two will probably give us some shoves and some counters but it ultimately will see Brock Lesnar beat Goldberg and the part-timers will finish off the show.

I hope it is a good show despite my less than normal enthusiasm. Enjoy!
