My predictions for Sunday’s Wild Card round games

It’s time for the playoffs! With that said, here are my quick predictions on today’s games.

Is this Ray Lewis’ last game?

INDIANAPOLIS (5) VS BALTIMORE (4)

The storylines are limitless here. Is this Ray Lewis’ final game in the NFL? What about the great comeback by Chuck Pagano as he returns to Baltimore? Is Joe Flacco elite? Is Andrew Luck the real deal?

I would like to think that the Lewis storyline would inspire the Ravens. After all, their emotional leader is back and that might be a huge difference. But I am not sure how effective he would be. The bigger concern for me is the offensive side of the ball.

Can Flacco lead this team to the Super Bowl? He was close last year and this year’s squad has shown signs of being good enough to make it happen again. But I am not sure if the offense can out-duel Luck’s run of success. What the Colts offense has done this year has provided a solid balance of timely running and passing plays. This team is playing at a level that I think can turn some heads in the playoffs.

With that said, I expect a really tight matchup that will sadly give us our final look at Ray Lewis in an NFL uniform.

COLTS WIN 21-13

Strap on your seat belt for this one

SEATTLE (5) VS WASHINGTON (4)

Two rookie quarterbacks facing off in one of the most exciting matchups of the entire playoffs. Robert Griffin III has brought a style and swagger to the field that I enjoy thoroughly. Not only is he mobile, but his arm strength is unbelievable. With Alfred Morris running the ball, the Redskins have an amazing offensive attack set up for the playoff run.

Seattle with Russell Wilson also have a rookie that can stretch the field with his arm an legs. Veteran Marshawn Lynch is playing some solid ball and his physical running style will give defenses a fit. The offensive gameplan is solid and with that three-game stretch of 150 total points scored, you can expect the Seahawks to pull out all their weapons in this one.

The defense for Seattle is the deciding factor for me. I am impressed by Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman manning the middle of the field and that might keep the Redskins from exploding early on offense.

I won’t overanalyze this game and just enjoy it. We’re in for a treat.

SEAHAWKS WIN 38-32
