Buccaneers confirm new helmet and logo coming

Our speculation yesterday is now a reality. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting a new logo with a new helmet. The tweets didn’t confirm if a new uniform is coming, but judging by the big sale yesterday and this tweet, I think that’s happening as well. The unveiling will take place on NFL Network on Thursday by Warren Sapp and Gerald McCoy.

This is already a major downgrade. I’ve have praised the team for having one of the best helmets ever in NFL history. The pewter along with the orange and red is a great color scheme and their uniform as a whole is a modern classic.

For the first time since 1997, the Buccaneers are making a uniform change.

I’m not sure about what specifics will come about with this new helmet, but it looks like they are going to go away from their black facemasks to a chrome facemask.

I won’t judge until I see it, but so far, I think this is a big unnecessary change. The team already has a unique color scheme and a classic modern look. They are going to change their helmet, which is the best part of their identity to something different.

We’ll never see these beauties again.

Their greatest moment as a franchise came with this helmet. But one of their worst moments have come in the past few seasons in them too.

Will it remain pewter? Or will they possibly turn the helmets white so they can throw back to these again?

Hopefully this turns out to be a decent looking helmet. But with the influence of chrome, it doesn’t sound too promising right now.
