As the 2015 calendar year comes to an end, I’ve put together my annual list of the best and worst dressed teams in sports.
This is a list of strictly my opinion, so feel free to agree or disagree or just take it for what it is.
To qualify for this list, the uniform element must be a new set that debuted and was used for in-game action in 2015. That’s pretty much it. Let’s go take a look at the list for National Hockey League.

** I hope I didn’t miss anything.
NHL’s Best and Worst Dressed
BEST: EDMONTON OILERS
The vibrancy of the orange is beautiful. Ushering in the Connor McDavid era (which unfortunately sees him on the shelf) with these new duds is nice. I very much like this.
HONORABLE MENTION:
STADIUM SERIES – For a one-time deal, this was pretty cool. It was odd and it fit perfectly to the identity of two California teams. No chrome like last year but it was unique enough that it stood out to me. A little crazy but it’s not bad.
WASHINGTON CAPITALS – The team wore the white throwbacks during the playoffs and they’ve decided to make this a part of their identity. Instead of keeping the white, they went with the red version of these throwbacks. It’s gorgeous.
NASHVILLE PREDATORS – The switch from navy helmets to gold helmets does wonders for this uniform.
ANAHEIM DUCKS – The old school logo with the current colors. I can dig it. I am still not a fan of the Ducks using these colors over their original colors. But at least they made the best out of it.
WORST: ARIZONA COYOTES
I liked their first look. I liked their previous look. But somehow adding more black just muddles this team’s identity. I can’t find anything redeeming from this uniform set.
HONORABLE MENTION:
COLORADO AVALANCHE – I get it. It’s an homage to the Rockies. But they eliminated one of my favorite alternates for this. No thanks.
NEW YORK ISLANDERS – The new home means new unis to match their roommates. No thanks.
MATCHUP OF THE YEAR: WINTER CLASSIC – BLACKHAWKS VS. CAPITALS (JANUARY 1)
Annually, the Winter Classic looks real good. Under the sun, this was a great visual treat.
** The Kings brought back their gold throwbacks but they chose the wrong team to wear them against.
