Remember when the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup and their fans rioted? Shame on them?
Remember when the Giants rioted and there was public destruction?
I thought “Red Sox Nation” would be better. After all, we talk about them like their fanbase are gods among men. But of course not, why are they any different? I suppose all fanbases are like that. Why do they do that? Why do they destroy things in celebration?
If the Oakland A’s ever won a title in the near future, I am going to be nowhere near Oakland. I might get shot in celebration. Stupid people.
Oh you silly Boston fans.
Remember when Rams COO Kevin Demoff was begging for a World Series sweep by the Cardinals?
He’s at it again. This time knowing a sweep won’t happen, he’s now advocating for a major rain out so Game 5 would get postponed.
I’m not sure if he’s serious, but rain will deter people from going out anyway, so his team’s home game might not be filled either. But at least the television sets will be tuned to the Rams instead of the Cardinals if there was a rain out.
The 2013 World Series kicks off tonight and it looks to be a very good matchup that could go the distance. All baseball fans would like to see that. However, St. Louis Rams COO Kevin Demoff doesn’t want it.
Sure, he wants the Cardinals to win. But he wants them to win via the sweep. Why so specific?
If the World Series enters a fifth game, that game will be played in St. Louis this Monday — the same Monday the Rams would host the Seahawks in their first Monday Night Football game in forever it seems. And given that the Rams are already without starting quarterback Sam Bradford for the rest of the season, the last thing the Rams want is to have less attention on them that night when the stage is supposed to be theirs.
So a Game 5 in the World Series would mean most of St. Louis and probably America will be focusing on the World Series. The fans in St. Louis will most likely not be paying attention or even attending the Monday Night Football game unless they are die-hard Rams fans. A sweep would avoid this situation.
After all these years, the Rams finally get a Monday Night Football game and their neighborhood team’s success could put a sour note on it.
** Mini rant.
Why would they ruin a great song??
I don’t care for the Red Sox. Only Jonny Gomes and Stephen Drew get my love because they are former Athletics. Other than that, Boston’s had enough glory and love from everyone for the past decade. Sure it would be a great storyline after the bombings, but I just don’t want them to win. I don’t want ESPN and all media outlets to get in with them.
And as for the Cardinals. Everyone claims they have the best fans in the world, the best baseball city, yadda yadda yadda. Their hubris about themselves is too much. They are a great team, but stop giving them all the props.
Can’t both teams lose? Whatever. Baseball season ended for me already. Now to focus on the other sports.
