Mitchell & Ness to release new NBA caps based on team uniforms

EDIT: 4/22/15 – They are all officially out. CLICK HERE

This is pretty exciting for me. Lids and Mitchell & Ness have partnered up to sell these NBA caps. The design, as you see, is solely based on the design of the shorts of the uniform. This is pretty cool as it incorporates a unique element for each team and it’s not some cookie-cutter design.

Some of these take us back to when a certain design on the shorts was so unique. Look at the Raptors or Rockets design in the above image. It’s very distinct and I like it. It reminds me of what Reebok did some years back for the NFL.

So what’s my only problem? They’re snapbacks. I don’t like snapbacks. I wanted fitted caps. Well, let’s see if I can convince myself to get past that and possibly pick up one of these caps.

Lids and their poor-timing Manny Machado ad

Lids put out this tweet advertising Manny Machado and his comeback. (It was also put on their Facebook.) This comeback, I assume, is in reference to the season-ending injury he suffered last season.

But of course, if you mention Manny Machado’s name, the thing that pops up to your mind was his stupidity from last weekend.

Temper tantrums. Evil smiles. Throwing bats at people. That’s what comes to mind.

So is it a comeback from the five-game suspension that he was handed for all that?

Because Lids finds a way to troll with 49ers fans a little with the Kaepernick Dolphins cap deal

Remember this weekend when Colin Kaepernick’s Dolphins cap made the buzz? Cap, hat and fashion provider Lids had a message for Kaepernick.

Lids is one of my favorite places to get my caps. They have been good to me since I first went there. The fact they would make such a tweet to Kaepernick just cracks me up. The trolling to 49ers fans with it is hilarious. And who knows? Maybe this could be the beginning of a good business partnership?

It points back to the point that this isn’t serious and it’s all in fun. People don’t need to overreact to things like this.

Lids is having fun. Kaepernick isn’t making a big deal out of it.  No news becomes news. Football season is almost here.
