You want to talk about breaking the mold and standing out? The Arizona Diamondbacks did just that with their newest uniform set. There are a lot of different things going on and much to discuss.
The new wordmark is fine. It’s not too crazy and it still takes a little hint of the old design. I am fine with it.
The logo also is nice return of the snake head.
The San Francisco Giants have unveiled a very unnecessary black alternate jersey today. They take a similar approach to what they did with their last black jersey. Except this time it’s not the team name, but their cap logo on the left side. (Oddly, they won’t have an accompanying cap for this jersey.) It’s the idea of their alternate road jersey, but in black.
Along with the black on black logo, they have orange piping and the sleeve stripe. They introduce a new sleeve patch as well. There will be no name on back, much like the home jersey, and the number will be in the same design as the logo in front.
I don’t know who approved of this but it’s terrible.
The Majestic logo is supposed to be on the left sleeve, but it found its way on Coco Crisp’s right sleeve last night.
Majestic has a new logo but most (if not all) of the jerseys worn this regular season feature the old logo. It must mean that they are using up their old inventory of blank jerseys to make the new sets this year before implementing the new logo.
But how odd to see the logo on the wrong sleeve. I wonder how that happened.
