New logo

Should the Oakland A’s adopt this new cap design?

Interesting logo choice for Oakland. https://t.co/PUa2AO5s3H pic.twitter.com/ADj3uoDNB4

Earlier this month, MLB’s Mother’s Day caps for this season was revealed on Macy’s website. It’s basically every team’s current caps except the logos now feature pink. Not very creative but it does exactly what it needs to do to be different and enough to build merchandising revenue.

However, as you can see above, the Oakland A’s cap does not feature their current logo.

The logo you see is the “O” from the script the team wore during their early years in Oakland.

The new Warriors logos don’t change much and it’s not that exciting

Leaked: The Golden State Warriors new logos coinciding with their move to San Francisco in 2019-20 #goldenstatewarriors #DubNation #StrengthInNumbers #warriors #nba #nbafinals

See them, details here: https://t.co/oF4m2e3Ae2 pic.twitter.com/H4mF7f20wI

In 2010, the Golden State Warriors introduced a new logo and a new uniform set. The logo pay tribute to their famous “The City” logo. In fact, they went a step further with the placement of the logo on their jersey.

The funny thing about this logo was that the bridge featured on it had not even opened yet. Finally, in 2013, that bridge opened.

Coinciding with their move to the Chase Center in San Francisco, Chris Creamer is reporting that the team has filed a trademark on logos for next season. The team uniforms will also be altered to reflect these changes.

Instagram makes an update

Man I can’t stand Instagram but they did good with this new logo update.

The Asylum Collective

Since being taken over by Facebook back in April of 2012, Instagram has only increased it’s social media presence, rivaling that of Twitter and parent-company Facebook. Additionally, many social media users have began to abandon Facebook moving towards Instagram as the next big thing in social media.

With that said, the folks at Instagram worked with designer Mackey Saturday to create a refreshing take on a 2 year old look (2 yrs isn’t that long, but enough time to date a logo in many cases). Gone are the seemingly extra brushstrokes from the orignal wordmark, replaced by a smoother, cleaner script headlined by a restyled “I” (which I think is a great modification by the way).

What I love about this change is how streamlined the script is, but at the same time, keeps a link to the original logo. Not too much of a change, but just enough to make a significant difference.

Did the new Dolphins logo really get leaked?

Miami Dolphins new jersey possibly leaked, includes the previously leaked logo but now with some nice new upgrades: http://t.co/xMP4Yop1Dy

— Chris Creamer (@sportslogosnet) March 19, 2013

As I am reading up on this, I have to wonder how in the world could this have leaked. The Dolphins can’t be that careless about it, right?

But after thinking about it, maybe it was intentional. They probably did this to get some buzz about the team. After all, fans are mourning the departure of Jake Long.

The logo goes along with what we have been expecting. It’s a very simple logo and the change could be better or for worse. It depends on who you’re asking. For the most part, I can accept it. I am actually more concerned with the uniform’s design. I guess we’ll wait later for that to leak or the actual release date.

New Dolphins logo?

Leaked photo of what might be the new Brooklyn Nets logo

The new Brooklyn Nets logo?

According to Deadspin, we might have our first look at the new Brooklyn Nets logo. As you can see by the photo, it has the same shield design that was teased by the team.

In fact, it looks to be a very simplified version of their current logo. It’s not overly complicated as the font and the simple basketball gives a lot of homage to their New Jersey days but gives itself a new identity in itself.

New Jersey Nets’ new Brooklyn logo partially leaked

The New Jersey Nets have this new video up on their site celebrating all the different logs that franchise has used. It’s a real cool video celebrating the team’s history.

You can watch the video right here.

But at the very end, they did a silhouette of what appears to be their new logo. As you can see by the screenshot, it’s a shield-type logo. This apparently could be a sneak peek at what the new Brooklyn Nets will look like.
