Yao Ming is going to the Hall of Fame and that’s awesome

Apparently his qualifications to the Hall of Fame isn’t as clear cut to some people. Despite his shortened NBA career, that’s not why he is getting into the Hall. Considering all the ball he played in China and the influence he’s had on the international growth to the game of basketball, this to me was an obvious choice. Yao deserves this.

With Yao expected to be inducted with Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson, this might be the best class ever. Congratulations, Yao!

Adidas can’t even get their Yao Ming throwback correct

His name is Yao Ming. Yao is his surname. He has worn YAO on his jersey throughout his entire NBA career.

But somehow, someway, Adidas missed that. Either they did not do any research, have any common sense or have no idea how names work outside of America.

 

 

The Yao Ming debate: How are we viewing his legacy?

This tweet came out yesterday with J.J. Watt and Yao Ming sharing a lunch together. The two Houston stars’ lunch together comes at a good time as the NBA All-Star Game makes its way to Houston this weekend.

With the discussion of Yao being talked about, there was a debate with a couple colleagues about Yao’s impact in the NBA. With a rumored jersey retirement, the debate surrounded the idea of the legacy of the 7’6″ giant.

Does he deserve to have his number retired? Was he that great of a player? Is he a Hall of Famer?
