My predictions for Super Bowl Sunday

Got enough of these two? Well, you’re going to get more!

Here it is, folks. After two weeks of nonsense, the game is finally here. The Ravens and 49ers will face off in the Super Bowl today!

This isn’t going to be a long analysis of every aspect of the game or anything like that. In fact I want to keep this as simple as possible. After all, I am not John or Jim Harbaugh, so it’s not my job to analyze a game to the core. Instead, I am going to point out 10 things that stand out to me in this game.

And who knows? I could be completely wrong, but this is the fun of it, right?

  1. David Akers won’t miss any field goals. But he will only get one field goal attempt, and it will be a 28-yard chip shot early in the game. After that, it’s extra points only for him.
  2. Torrey Smith will have 5 receptions for over 100 yards receiving. However, he won’t find the end zone.
  3. Anquan Boldin will have a touchdown and it will be the first points the Ravens score.
  4. Colin Kaepernick will rush over 65 yards, breaking the Super Bowl record for quarterbacks.
  5. Randy Moss will catch a touchdown pass to give the 49ers the lead at halftime.
  6. Vernon Davis will be held to 85 yards receiving, but his catches will come in clutch third down situations.
  7. Frank Gore will not find the end zone, but his blocking will keep plays alive for the 49ers.
  8. Ray Lewis will lead the game in tackles, but a missed tackle gives Delanie Walker his second touchdown of the game.
  9. Michael Crabtree will catch the go-ahead touchdown.
  10. The Harbaugh brothers will hug after the game.

Not very great predictions, but here’s the bottom line. The running game for the 49ers will not be as explosive in this, meaning that it will be an aerial attack from both teams. The main factor I believe the turnovers and which team prevents them. The 49ers, I expect, will maintain their composure and pressure Flacco into mistakes. In return, the 49ers and their field position should be able to get them some momentum in the game.

Ultimately, this game will be about Colin Kaepernick and how he can handle the pressure. I expect a close game going into the fourth quarter but the 49ers will score the go-ahead touchdown early in the period and the defense holds down the Ravens in the end.

I see the 49ers winning the Super Bowl 31-21.

That’s how I see it happening. I could be wrong, but you never know.
