Brandon Marshall knew he’d get fined for wearing green shoes, but he said he would match it in order to bring awareness to his own foundation, which focuses on mental illness.

As you can see by his Instagram, the fined he received for wearing shoes that were not approved by the league was $10,500. Since he is going to match it, the shoes will cost him $21,000.

But as Marshall stated, this move brought awareness to his foundation and to him, it was all worth it. Good for him.

** On a side note, the letter also says that the Bears’ shoes are supposed to be predominantly white. This was something that I noticed during the preseason but now it’s been confirmed.
