Samuel Lam’s 2015 Best and Worst Dressed in Sports: NFL edition

Terrible on all levels.

As the 2015 calendar year comes to an end, I’ve put together my annual list of the best and worst dressed teams in sports.

This is a list of strictly my opinion, so feel free to agree or disagree or just take it for what it is.

To qualify for this list, the uniform element must be a new set that debuted and was used for in-game action in 2015. That’s pretty much it. Let’s go take a look at the list for the National Football League.

THE REST OF THE BEST AND WORST OF 2015 IS LINKED HERE

** I hope I didn’t miss anything important.

NFL’s Best and Worst Dressed

BEST: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

For the first time in team history, the Chiefs wore their red socks with their all-white look. I like this a lot. I didn’t mind their white socks but something about this really makes this uniform pop out so much better. I don’t know if this is the permanent change going forward but if it is, I don’t mind at all.

HONORABLE MENTION:
MIAMI DOLPHINS – Dolphins threw back to their first ever uniform. Perfect. I wish they would make this the full-time set.
GREEN BAY PACKERS – A nice throwback for the Packers. It is the same one they wore in 1994.
TENNESSEE TITANS – This isn’t a new uniform, but it’s a change for the Titans as the navy tops are the standard home set again.

WORST: COLOR RUSH

This gimmick will continue next season for more teams. To see all the Color Rush uniforms, click here. It’s just not good. We had a color blindness issue and we had teams wearing very unfortunate uniform combinations. Just a terrible unnecessary gimmick.

HONORABLE MENTION:
CLEVELAND BROWNS –
There are just no redeeming qualities about this design. The seams and the odd shoulder stripe and the poor choice of color combos make this set a disaster.
BALTIMORE RAVENS – Gold is an accent color and should remain that way. Making it the base color for pants was bad.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS – Black is an accent color and should remain that way. Making it a base color for the uniform was bad.

MATCHUP OF THE YEAR: PACKERS VS. BRONCOS (NOVEMBER 1)

As you already know, I think that this particular matchup is the greatest uniform matchup in NFL history. So when these two decided to bring back their Super Bowl uniform matchup, I knew nothing could beat it. It’s a mix of old school versus new school with great contrasting colors. Perfect uniform matchup.

There were three other uniform matchups that I considered for this spot as well.
