What a strange time we are right now. COVID-19 has forced this major event out of the stadium and into the WWE Performance Center. No fans. Two nights. It could be great. It could be awful. I have no idea which nights the matches will take place. Here are my predictions.

Kickoff Pre-show: WOMEN’S BATTLE ROYAL — NOT HAPPENING
– There will be more than 10 people in the ring so this match won’t go as planned. 

Kickoff Pre-show: ANDRE THE GIANT MEMORIAL BATTLE ROYAL — NOT HAPPENING

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH 
– Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar (C)

It would be a great way to start the first night of the show with this match. The hype for this has died a little bit but the potential of Drew McIntyre is still pretty strong. However, with so much uncertainty right now, it might be a good idea to have McIntyre win the title and then not be in any foreseeable matches. So right now, having Brock Lesnar hold the title until maybe SummerSlam is the way to go.

WWE RAW TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
– Angel Garza/Austin Theory vs. The Street Profits (C)

The build to this has not been good. Andrade getting hurt and replaced wasn’t good either. So with that, The Street Profits should retain as putting the titles of a makeshift tag team like this isn’t good.

WWE SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM TITLE TRIPLE THREAT LADDER MATCH
– The Usos vs. New Day vs. Miz & Morrison (C)

EDIT: Because of the virus, having all six men in the ring would be too dangerous along with other personnel on hand to exceed 10. It’s now John Morrison vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Jimmy Uso. 

Miz & Morrison have been great back together and they don’t need the tag titles. Usos and New Day both have been great champions in the past but it seems like they are here to just carry this match as we really establish Miz & Morrison as a legit tag team with a great potential storyline future ahead. They keep the belt in a great match.

BARON CORBIN vs. ELIAS 

This rivalry hasn’t been told well either but that’s due to the virus limitations. However, Elias has been suffering lots of losses in his career and he is desperate for a win. As a heel Corbin can suffer a loss and still be effective. Elias needs this and will win it.

WWE NXT WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH
– Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley (C)

What if Charlotte won and then becomes so powerful as the new queen of NXT? Imagine the stories they can tell with Charlotte returning to NXT and exerting her dominance? Ripley has had a pretty good run as champion but Charlotte Flair winning opens up endless possibilities. That’s what I want to see.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH
– Daniel Bryan vs. Sami Zayn (C)

This would be nice for Bryan to have another WrestleMania moment but Sami Zayn (and his goons) will be too much for Bryan and Drew Gulak. Plus, Zayn could make for a good champion for a good while.

RANDY ORTON vs. EDGE (LAST MAN STANDING MATCH)

The storytelling here has been so good. Randy Orton has cut amazing promos leading up to this. Edge still has his “grit” and has made this the most anticipated match for me. Edge needs this win if he plans to wrestle more after this. So that’s how I see it happening as that is the plan. These two have great chemistry together and it will be a great match.

WWE WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH
Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross vs. Kabuki Warriors (C)

Asuka has been so busy outside of the tag team scene that Kairi Sane has done nothing in the ring. Hopefully this allows them to focus back on the tag team division. Alexa and Nikki are a good team but they don’t need this. Kabuki Warriors, especially for Kairi Sane, need a big moment to jumpstart their reign.

WWE SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S TITLE FATAL 5-WAY ELIMINATION MATCH
– Sasha Banks vs. Naomi vs. Lacey Evans vs. Tamina vs. Bayley (C)

Dana Brooke was taken out due to being quarantined. So we have this match and I don’t even know what to think of it. It’s so put together that I can’t see anyone legitimately winning this match other than Bayley, Sasha or Naomi. This might lead to a necessary title change because Bayley is getting stale and the only legit person to be title holder is Sasha Banks. It could lead to a good feud here for them going into SummerSlam. That’s how I see it being played out.

ALEISTER BLACK vs. BOBBY LASHLEY

No reason for this to happen. No storyline either. Aleister Black wins because he needs it.

AJ STYLES vs. THE UNDERTAKER (BONEYARD MATCH)

What is this match? Fascinating how they have stripped away the aura of the Deadman to make this a Mark vs Allan match. I like where this is going. Undertaker should win but he actually doesn’t need to win. Maybe this is the way Undertaker goes out. AJ Styles takes down Mark but Undertaker’s legacy never really dies here.

OTIS vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER

Otis has to win this. This story has been pushed to the point where if Otis doesn’t win, then it was for nothing. But of course, this might turn into a Sonya vs Mandy situation afterward which might be a thing.

KEVIN OWENS vs. SETH ROLLINS

Kevin Owens needs this win. Seth Rollins will be fine without it. So let’s have Owens win and have him move on from this lackluster feud.

WWE UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH
– Braun Strowman vs. Goldberg (C)

Well, with no Roman Reigns because of his health concerns with the virus, we get a match that was announced less than 24 hours ago. Nobody wanted Goldberg as champ. Nobody expected Strowman in this match either. The smart thing to get Goldberg out of this position and have Braun Strowman win. That’s my hope in giving Strowman his deserved title reign (in strange circumstances).

JOHN CENA vs. “THE FIEND” BRAY WYATT (FIREFLY FUNHOUSE MATCH)

Is this going to be like when Wyatt and Orton faced off at WrestleMania? That would be weird. Of course, the character is weird so maybe that is what we are going to get. But honestly, we just want to see Bray Wyatt finally get his big WrestleMania moment and maybe this shoots him right back into the title picture. Let Cena finally put him over.

WWE RAW WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH
– Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch (C)

Wouldn’t it be great to have a NXT star win the title here? I think so. But I doubt they would do it like that. Baszler definitely needs go to Raw now as she’s done everything in NXT. Maybe the Four Horsewomen make an appearance? That would be great. But unfortunately Becky Lynch is still a hot commodity and she doesn’t need to lose the belt just yet. So she wins this… barely.

I hope it is a good show through two days. It’s going to be the strangest WrestleMania yet. Let’s hope Rob Gronkowski doesn’t do something too wild.
